18 February
At 07.00, TNI Raiders troops based at Kuta Meuligoe post, Sawang district, raided the home of and intimidated Juairiah S 32 yrs, a kindergarten teacher and resident of Babah Buloh village, Sawang. The victim is the wife of a TNA guerrilla, Muhtar (GAM treasurer for Sagoe [district] Teungku Lhok Drien, Sawang, Samudra Pasee). The victim was threatened that she would be seized and her home burnt if her husband did not surrender himself.

17 February
At 11.15, a combined force of TNI troops from Keutapang post and Ujong Pacu post who were carrying out a military operation in Ujung Blang village, Nisam district, tortured dozens of residents of the aforementioned village. Among the victims were: Nek Paten 80 yrs, an old woman, severely tortured. Aminah 45 yrs, a widow, whose home was raided and who was severely tortured. Syarbani Hasan 35 yrs, whose home was raided and who was severely tortured.

23 January
At 05.00, TNI troops from Kandang base raided the home of Maryamah Yahya 43 yrs, of Meunasah Me, in Kandang, Muara Dua district. After smashing up the contents of her home, the troops seized the victim and took her away, accusing her of being a family member of a GAM guerilla. The whereabouts of the victim are still unknown.

11 January
At 10.00, TNI Intelligence Taskforce troops from Nisam base seized a woman, Raimah Abubakar 37 yrs, of Ulee Blang village, Nisam district. The victim was seized in Simpang IV Batuphat, Rancong, and is still missing.

8 January
A combined force of TNI from the District Military Command HQ and Police Mobile Brigade officers from Cot Sabong post, Nisam district, seized two civilians, namely:

1) Zainabon benti Ishak 33 yrs.
2) Ma Doi 30 yrs.

Both residents of Binje village, Nisam district. The two women have yet to be released.

20 December
At 6.00pm, TNI soldiers arrested Darwani benti Yusuf (22 yrs), a resident of Ujong Pacu village in Muara Dua subdistrict. She is the wife of a TNA soldier, Rajab, who had been arrested in Keude Amplah. Her whereabouts are still not known to this day.

17 December
At 8.15am, TNA soldiers attacked a TNI/Brimob post in Cot Sabong, Nisam. In the exchange of fire, the TNI soldiers shot three civilians in the area. The victims included:

1) Cut Mutia Nuriman 13 yrs, later died

All three victims were residents on Meunasah Meucat village in Nisam.

22 November
At 17.00, TNI Marines from Tanoh Anoe post seized two women:

1) Fitriyani Hasbi 21 yrs,
2) Nur Afifah Tgk Ben 25 yrs,

both residents of Tanoh Anoe village, Muara Batu district, and both taken from their respective homes because their husbands are TNA guerrillas. The troops confiscated the identity cards of the victims and forced them to sign divorce papers against their husbands, but also refused to release them until their husbands surrender. The two victims are still being held (25 November)and are taken with the troops on all military operations.

At 24.00, TNI and Intelligence Task Force agents from Batuphat post in Muara Dua district, seized a mother and her three children:

1) Manfarisyah 41 yrs,
2) her two 15-month old twins, and
3) Nurfadilah 15 yrs.

Previously, the TNI and police had raided their home several times and threaten to kill the entire family if Manfarisyah’s son Adi Paloh (a TNA member ) did not immediately surrender. The fate of the four victims is still unknown. (25 November)

20 November
At 20.15, TNI and Intelligence Task Force agents based at Batuphat base, Muara Dua district, seized the family of a TNA member. The victims were residents of Meunasah Paloh Meuriya village, Muara Dua district. They were:

1) M Husen Puteh 55 yrs, father
2) Aisyah Ahmad 50 yrs, mother
3) Nurjanah Husen 31 yrs, child
4) Dewi Asma Fitri Husen 17 yrs, child
5) Khairullah Husen 14 yrs, child

Previously the TNI and police had raided the victims’ home several times and threatened to murder the entire family and burn the home if their son Wan Linud (a TNA member) did not give himself up immediately. The fate of the family is still unknown. (24 November).

23 October
At 07.00, TNI from Lancok post, Syamtalira Bayu, seized Rosmawati binti Raja 26 yrs and her two children aged 2 and 3. The victim, who is the wife of a TNA member, Teungku Isa, was taken from her home in the village of Meunasah Blang, Syamtalira Bayu district. The fate of the woman and her two children is still unknown.

11 September
At around 9.00pm, Brimob from Kuta Makmur in North Acheh had kidnapped an 18-year-old girl, Jamaliah, from Kampung Butek, in Kuta Makmur. She was kidnapped from her house and her fate remains unknown to this day. Her family fear that she will be raped.

23 August
07.30 am TNI soldiers in the course of an operation shot dead M. Yusuf 40 yrs, a civilian from Asan Seulemak village, Matang Kuli district. At the same time the wife of the victim, Nursyidah Nurdin 24 yrs was shot in the thigh while trying to help her husband, and is currently in a critical state.

10.00 am, Tanah Luas district Mobile Police Squad arrested a woman, Nursiah Ibrahim 30 yrs, in Meunasah Serbajaman Baroh, Tanah Luas district. Her fate is still unknown.

19 August
The house of Cut Aminah binti Syakubat 36 yrs, of Kedue Mane village, Muara Batu district, was again raided by the Marines on 19 August 2003. The Marines had previously done the same thing on August 16 2003. The victim is the wife of a TNA soldier. The Marines destroyed the furnishings of the home and beat the victim’s young child.

16 August
The TNI raided the home of Saleh Salim 72 yrs of Cot Seurani village, Muara Batu district. The victim was tortured until he lost consciousness. The victim’s wife was also tortured.

The TNI raided the home of Zuraidah Ahmad (51), of Cot Seurani village, Muara Batu district. The victim was also tortured. The victim’s daughter was sexually harassed and tortured.

28 July
Halimah binti Harun 67 yrs, Cot Seurani, Muara Batu district, house raided by TNI soldiers, who ransacked her belongings and threatended to kidnap the victim and burn her house down if her son, M. Hasan, a GAM member, did not immediately surrender to the nearest TNI post.

27 July
In a large sweeping operation reports that TNI soldiers collected the people in Kampung Pulau Panyang and Kampung Ulee Jalan. Many women were sexual harassed and they were stripped naked by troops. Many of the villagers was beaten using wood and the troop were verbally abusive.

19 July
At 18.00,Ainol Marziah 40 yrs, from Kampung Meuria Paloh,Muara Dua subdistrict, North Acheh was arrested by TNI posko Batuphat in her house,Muara Dua subdistrict. Her whereabouts is unknown.

On June, there were four rape cases perpetrated by soldiers of Indonesian Armed Forces and Indonesian Police who carrying military operation in Aceh. From those cases, one of them is rape case against children (known as student of Junior High School in Bireun, Aceh Jeumpa (kelas III SMP N 2 Bireun). This case occurred on 18 June 2003. Meanwhile, three other cases were faced by three women from Paya Bakong village, North Aceh on 21, 22, and 23 June 2003. (Kontras).

9 June
Bate Iliek - TNI member under Commander Capt. Marine, Silistiotri, personal identification number; 12726,arrested and tortured many residents of Peusangan Subdistrict, Bireuen District, including Mursyidah Ibrahim, at 7.00 am Acheh Time, the TNI shot her to death - she was pregnant.

1 June
Gegana (Police special elite forces) troops clad in plain clothes searched the house of Suryani, a resident in Lorong Laot I, South Hagu village, Banda Sakti District, North Acheh Regency. Her daughter, Ita Jamil 20 yrs, wife of Jeffri was taken by them and is still missing.

At 16.25 pm, the TNI troops from Kopassus Unit, arrested 64 year old woman (Rukaiyah binti M.Yusuf) resident of Juli Tambon village, Bireun. The reason for her arrest is because her son was accused to have joined the armed wing of GAM.

The TNI troops, would not release her if she did not pay Rp.5.000.000 as a bribe. Until this news reported (8 June), the woman still detained at Kopasus’s Post Commander.

31 May
At about 11.00 am, TNI troops from Batalyon 144, Kostrad, have tortured the innocent civilian resident of Lawang Peudada village, Bireun. The victims are:

1) Afdhal Ahmad 22 yrs, student
2) Yusri 16 yrs, student
3) Basri 45 yr,
4) Muda Intan 25 yrs, been shot dead.
5) Sarwati binti Razali 16 yrs, been raped by TNI.

Troops and after that, the victim brought to Peudada Military post, Bireuen.

There after, at 16.25 pm, the TNI troops from Kopassus Unit, have arrested 64 year old woman (Rukaiyah binti M.Yusuf) resident of Juli Tambon village, Bireun. The reason for her arrest is because her son was accused to have joined GAM armed wing.

The TNI troops, would not release her if she did not pay Rp5.000.000 as a bribe. Until this news reported, the woman still detained at Kopasus’s Post commander.

26 June
Nine women from Alue Lhok, sub-district of Paya Bakong, North Acheh, were raped by TNI troops. They were told to report that they were raped by GAM guerillas. But they went into hiding and reported their experienced to a local activist in Pase.

19 May
In Peusangan a 6 year old girl was raped by TNI personal. At the same time 5 other teenage girls have been taken into military vehicle and have been raped by a group of TNI soldiers. Unfortunately, all victims are too afraid to give their names.

One girl, 19 year old, the resident of Teupin Mane village, was arrested and raped by TNI troops. One week later the girl is still badly traumatized, as result of misfortune victimize. (afraid to disclose name)

9 Mei
At 19.30, Police Mobile Brigade officers from Pidie base shot dead a woman, Yusnidar A. Rahman 36 yrs, of Meunasah Ulee Tutue Raya hamlet, Aree village, Delima. The victim was shot in the head in Blang Galang village, Delima, while returning home from a feast. The troops also seized 60 mayam of gold (1Mayam=3,3gr) and a Honda Astrea Supra motorbike that the victim had only bought a month before.

11 November
At 03.00, a combined force of TNI soldiers from Rajawali and the Siliwangi division based at Simpang Pineung Caleue, numbering more than 35 troops, raided the home of Nurlaila Nurdin 30 yrs, a citizen of Guci hamlet, Caleue, Indrajaya district. The victim was beaten during the raid and lost her teeth. The troops also threatened to murder the victim and burn her home if her husband, Ali Janggot, a TNA guerrilla, did not surrender himself immediately.

Previously, on the 8th of November at 06.00, and on the 10th of November at 03.00, the same force had raided the victim’s home. On the first occasion (8/11) the soldiers made threats and confiscated the victim’s ID card. On the second occasion the troops shot at the house several times and forced open the windows and doors. They beat the victim and interrogated her about the whereabouts of her husband. All the furnishings of the house were destroyed and the valuables stolen.

7 November
At 2.00pm, Indonesian military Rajawali from BKO Lamlo maltreated 3 female students until they are in critical condition. The three are:

1) Darmayanti Nurdin 18 yrs,
2) Elia A Manaf 18 yrs,
3) Wahyuni A Taleb 18 yrs,

All three are residents of Lameue village, Kuta Bakti subdistrict in Lamlo. The TNI soldiers tortured then while conducting a military operation in the village. They were accused of supplying logistical support to members of GAM.

6 October
TNI Battalion 315 troops from Tangse base sexually harassed Ti Laibah from Blang Ubue village, Bungga, Tangse district.

4 October
At 20.30, TNI soldiers of Battalion 315 from Cot Geulumpang base, Geulumpang Minyeuk district, murdered a TNA soldier. When Rizal Ibrahim (from TNA), returned to his home in Jurong Baro village, Gelumpang Payong, Geulumpang Minyeuk, TNI troops immediately surrounded the house and shot everyone inside. The victims were:

1) Ibrahim Usman 55 yrs, father of the TNA soldier
2) Ratna M. Hasan 50 yrs, Ibrahim Usman’s wife,
3) Rizal Ibrahim 25 yrs, TNA soldier.

The TNI shot Ibrahim Usman and Rizal in the head, while Ratna (Ibrahim Usman’s wife) was shot on the right side of her belly, the bullet emerging on the left side. Before this tragedy struck the family, Ibrahim Usman and his wife had once been captured by TNI from Lueng Putu District Headquarters (Koramil), but had been released.

31 May
Pidie - At about 11.00 am, TNI troops from Batalyon 144, Kostrad tortured innocent civilians of Lawang Peudada village, Bireun. The victims included one woman Sarwati binti Razali 16 yrs, who was raped by TNI troops. After being raped the victim was taken to Peudada Military post, Bireun. Prabu Kijantan, a member of TNI Unit D Yonif 301, posted at Lueng Putu village, Bandar Baru District, Pidie Regency raped two girls (sisters) who are residents of Blang Krueng village, Bandar Baru District, Pidie Regency: Ainul Said 25 yrs and Laila Said 23 yrs.

25 May
Khaira Harun 13 yrs, was raped by 12 TNI troops in Ara Bungo village, Peudada District, Bireuen regency. She was injured badly, and is traumatized and still in the hospital.

23 May
In Paloh Mambu village and Lhok Weng village, Nisam District, North Acheh regency, Putroe, 29 yrs, with her 15 month-old baby was taken by TNI. They are still missing.

22 May
Joint operation of TNI and Brimob conducted a military operation in Lam Baro Angan village, Darussalam district, Greater Acheh. One family of a GAM fighter were arrested including a woman. Aisyah, 35, detained but released four days later on Monday.

Trieng gadeng District: Two girls, Suryani Ali 20 yrs, and Mery Syamaun 25 yrs, were kidnapped and are still missing.

In Banda Sakti District, North Acheh regency, TNI were conducting military operation - Farida and her 11 year-old son were arrested along with Aisyah Peukan, 37 yrs,Dakinah 52 yrs and Nuraini Nyak Lah.
