The new Aceh Governing Law (LoGA, Law 11/2006) devolves additional fiscal and economic powers to the province. Meanwhile, at the political level, the LoGA provides for the direct election of the Provincial Governor and District Heads (Bupatis); while subdistrict heads (Camats) are still appointed by the Bupati.
